Common questions
The app didn't find my dog's photos.
The scan looks through photos on this phone from a month before your dog's birthday or gotcha day onwards, so set one of those dates in the profile first. It only sees photos it has permission to see: check Settings, Privacy, Photos, Puppy Eyes is set to Full Access. Very small or very old thumbnails can be missed; the ones it isn't sure about appear in a separate group so you can tick them yourself.
It picked photos that aren't my dog.
Untick them in the review screen before adding. Photos the app was less sure about start unticked. If you have more than one dog, give each their own profile with a clear photo and the app will keep them apart.
How do I fill in older days?
Settings, then "Fill from your library". You'll also see a card on Today when the app spots photos of your dog on days that are still blank.
Where are my films saved?
In the Films tab under "Your films". Tap Save on any film to put it in your photo library, or Share to send it anywhere.
How do stickers get into Messages?
Open any day, hold the photo and choose "Make a sticker". In Messages, tap the plus next to the message field, choose Stickers, and Puppy Eyes is one of the packs.
Is my diary backed up?
If you're signed in to iCloud on your phone, yes, automatically and privately. If you'd rather keep the diary on the phone only, turn off "Sync with iCloud" in the app's Settings. Either way you can export a zip of everything from Settings and keep it wherever you like. Export is free for everyone.
How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?
Sign in with the same Apple Account, open the Pro page and tap "Restore purchases". Pro is also shared with your Family Sharing group.
How do I cancel Pro?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: iOS Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Puppy Eyes. Cancelling keeps everything you've made.
I have a code.
On the Pro page, tap "Redeem a code" at the bottom. Offer codes and promo codes both work there.
Your data
Everything stays on your phone unless you share it. Read the privacy policy for the full picture, including what iCloud sync does and how to export or delete the diary.
